Wildlife
The title isn't in reference in life at our house, though it would be apt. Last weekend we took a family trip out into the middle of nowhere. We drove past a herd of deer that were contemplating crossing the road. The babies didn't actually see the deer that were feet away, but it was pretty cool nonetheless.

Children's Museum
We've been MIA lately because life is busy here. I tell you, twin toddlers are busy movers! Here are some photos our friend Staci took. Her daughter Maya is the blondie below. It's funny how is some photos Elliot's hair looks blonde as well.
We had a great time at Aunt Daphne and Uncle Seth's wedding last weekend, though we were HOT. The babies are super excited to be in a wedding this weekend...more to come on that!

Fill Up the Pools!
Elliot's nickname of the month is Little E, Bumble Bee. Mike finds a new tag ever few weeks.
Henry J looked so old in this outfit. I didn't like it at all!
Papa put a ton of balls in this box and the boys have been loving climbing into the box and sitting here. I have no idea why that's so great, but what do I know?
It's going to get hot here again this week. It's been nice to have a few cool days; it helps me appreciate the 90 degree weather even more!
These pictures are from a few weeks ago. We had a busy weekend, and will share some photos of our twin friends Sadie and Grace hanging out with H+E soon. Have a great week!

For Daphne and Seth (and Everyone Else)!
The only way to get them to stop screaming is with mango in mesh.
Helmets on babies is a funny sight. I'll have you know that I just typed "finny site". Oh my.
A more realistic picture of helmet wearing: hitting brother on the head or trying to pry it off.
And we're ready! As long as the mango holds out, anyway.

My New Favorite Things:
I've been looking for a Teva-like shoe all summer, and when I finally found some actual Tevas at the Rack a few weeks ago I purchased them. Purple wouldn't have been my first choice, but beggars...
I am so in love with the bike trailer; it's so sad that they babies hate it. It's a combination of the helmets and the not-so-comfortable straps. I found that bribing them with frozen mango keeps them happy. We're going to the library in the morning; wish us luck!

Hmmm...
It appears that in Henry's frantic attempt to post he messed up the template. I guess it's time for a change!

Mama Riding
One of my online friends made this comment on the photo below: "When does baby-wearing cross the line into parent-riding?" And I was wondering last week why my back hurt... So I just found this contest to win more slings and such. While I would love to encourage everyone to enter, it would be bad for my odds. So do what you will.
Man, someone just woke up. Why do they always do that? Off I go...
Hope everyone had a good Fourth!

And here you are,
At almost one year old! Look how big you are! You're so much fun to be around. Yesterday was your birthday and even though you both were fussy about your teeth, you charmed the pants off the waiter at lunch. You are both fantastic boys and I love you two so much!
Love,
Mama
Dear Babies,
This photo was taken when you were two days old. Look at how wonderful you were. And quiet in that moment!

Henry's Turn!
Henry's been taking a couple of steps here and there, but doesn't seem committed to the whole process. The other day, however, he made it five or six paces without falling! His walking seems to be building on itself; last night he walked the same short distance a few times! Good boy, baby! You're going to be running soon!

Fast Food Nation, Part 1
On Monday we drove from the Inland Empire (The Furnace Of California) to Santa Monica. It was quite a bit cooler on the coast.

We had a good time walking around town, but couldn't find the right place to eat lunch. Both Henry and Elliot began to rebel while we were on the pier, where our food options were limited to carnival fare and Bubba Gumps Shrimp House. I'm not sure who actually eats at Bubba Gumps, but we've run into number of them lately. Blech.
So the babies shared a $4 hot dog.
I'm pretty sure it was organic.

Swimming!
At Mike's sister's house in California the boys had their first swim in a pool!
I slathered them up with sunblock and covered their little bodies into swim clothes.
Poor babies were probably burning up before getting into the pool; each day the temperatures were well over 100. Here are some photos of the good life.
